Had to change the method for which I posted site updates,
stories, etc. Because of the Genealogy section, sites such as
Google have indexed every single page in this site - several times
over (click
here then scroll to the bottom and click the 10, then the 19 to
see all 28 pages of other sites that link to my pages).
Since I allow "comments" on my postings, and those too get
indexed, some geniuses have figured out that by posting comments
and URLs for their online casinos, porn sites and other
commercial enterprises, gets them top placement for their web
sites when portals like Google index this one.
I have tried putting up with the baloney, deleting the
comments directly from the database, blocking their IP range at
the server level, threats to their hosts, etc - and have gotten
nowhere.
I have assumed that they are using some type of bot to make
these postings and a live human isn't doing it. The new system I
have in place will help counter it, but I don't know for how
long. i may have to turn the commenting off forever.
