Israel was a private in Company F, 11th Regiment, Minnesota Infantry. Enlisted August 15, 1864, discharged June 26 1865, service 10 Months, 10 days. Disability incurred; rheumatism contracted in service and deafness. 1890 Special Census, Civil War Veterans, SD2 ED268, reel M123-23. The 1910 census shows Israel (widower) living in the houshold of John P. LeDoux and his daughter Aurelia in Brainerd, Minnesota.
